Daze of Our Lives

by Amy Sherman, LMHC

How often do you wake up confused about what lies ahead? Do you ever wonder that if you had taken another path, things would be different?  Does this feeling bring on disillusionment and disappointment?

What you need to do at this time is get yourself revved up about something that will revitalize and rejuvenate you.  That can be accomplished by simply setting yourself up with new, achievable goals.  Here are some areas on which to focus.

Health, Financial, Relationships, Business/Career, Personal Growth, Family and Personal Time

It’s so simple to just want something, but what you need to do is truly commit to what you want. Would you like to be earning $100,000 this year? Do you want to lose 40 lbs by the summer?  Would you love to take a 3 week vacation to Italy in August?  Think big, but not ordinary.  Get yourself excited about the prospects of achieving something you really want.  It may seem simplistic, but now what do you do?

The answer comes directly from your subconscious mind.  Have you ever noticed that when you buy a new car, everyone seems to be driving it? Without you realizing it, you start becoming more aware of what you are thinking about most often.  The same is true for your goals.  If you think about what you want enough, your mind sets things in motion to create what you most desire.    You’ll find you come up with big ideas, brainstorming how you can make your goal a reality.  You will start to meet interesting and influential people who will direct you where you need to go to manage your goal.  You will notice more opportunities and resources available to you that are related to your mission.  All this, because you set the goal in motion with your first thought.

You no longer have to go through life in a daze, complaining that things are so hum-drum and ordinary.  Jazz it up.  Get yourself excited again, by realizing that you can create a whole new direction and focus, if you know what you truly want.  The biggest challenge is that.  So start thinking and remember to thing BIG!
